16 January was your one-year anniversary of leaving home for this trip. Amazing….

  • George says:

Wow a year in and such a beautiful place to kick off the next year. I so enjoy those starfish pictures! Miss you guys. The Holidays weren’t the same without you. Be safe and smile wide.

Good to hear from you, George. Hope alls well with the project – we think of you and Linda often. We’ll have so much to talk about, it could take all winter. Big hugs!

First and foremost, a very happy New Year to you both and hope you are both keeping well.
I so enjoy reading your blog for two reasons. First, when you are describing places to which we have already been, it brings back many happy memories. Second, for those we have yet to visit (fortunately only a few so far) it makes us want to go even more. We have just spent a very happy morning planning a trip to Gambia and Senegal for 2019. There are some fascinating festivals in April and these, together with the wildlife, make for a new fascinating destination.
We are off to Columbia in a few weeks travelling around and spending some time in the Amazon (although this will actually be in Peru). Then, in May we will be in San Diego for a family wedding after which we will be travelling up to Vancouver (anthropological museum et al) then on to small reserve where we hope to see bears. Finally, in November we will be going to India (Gujarat) where, amongst other things, there is a camel fair in Pushkar,
It remains a sadness that our journeying has yet to cross with yours, but who knows. Perhaps we can still meet up somewhere.
Until then enjoy. I know you both will.

How wonderful to hear from you, Tony, and glad you are enjoying the blog. It is fun to put the posts together especially with a year’s worth of practice. You and Sally are SO adventurous – Gambia and Senegal, how exotic, even from our standards 🙂 I often think of you as I am birding, remembering how we met. Have a terrific year and yes, may we meet again, somewhere. xoxo

What a perfect spot for the 25th ! You picked an excellent year to be in Africa. You are the only person I’ve heard say 2017 was a great year ! You guys sure did it right.
The coral and the shells are glorious! All the photos sharing the colors and textures and faces of your journey are just really spectacular! I’m drooling over each and every one. Reading your blog is a great escape.
Here’s to your health and abundance in 2018. Safe travels and please never stop blogging !!
